Magical Explorer: Reborn as a Side Character in a Fantasy Dating Sim revealed its first key visual, trailer, and an October 2026 release date. Studio WHITE FOX is handling the animation, with Kazuki Ohashi directing — the project was first announced back in September 2023, so this confirms a four-year journey to premiere.

The main voice cast includes:

Nobunaga Shimazaki as Kosuke Takioto, Ai Kakuma as Ludi, Saori Onishi as Yukine Mizumori, and M.A.O as Nanami.

Directing is Kazuki Ohashi, with series composition by Satoko Sekine, character design by Ryosuke Kimiya, and music by Kenichiro Suehiro.

The Premise

Written by Iris with illustrations by Noboru Kannatsuki, the series began online in February 2018 before Kadokawa Shoten picked it up for print in November 2019. Yen Press describes the story: "Few titles are more revered among connoisseurs of Japanese erotic video games than Magical Explorer. One day, our smut-loving hero wakes up to find he has been reincarnated into the body of the game's dreamboat protagonist! Or rather, his hapless comic-relief best friend, Kosuke Takioto."

With his knowledge of the game and Kosuke's unorthodox abilities, our hero vows to turn the game's unluckiest loser into its mightiest heartthrob.
