Little Red Riding Hood Meets a Corpse on Her Journey — a fairy tale mystery novel series by Aito Aoyagi — is getting a TV anime adaptation in 2027. A teaser visual and trailer were revealed alongside the first cast and staff announcements.
Cast and Studio
Yume Miyamoto will voice Little Red Riding Hood, with Akira Sekine as Pinocchio. The teaser visual carries the English title Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story and features the two characters.
Studio BENTEN Film — recently acquired by AI animation company Creator's X — is in charge of the animation, with Itsuro Kawasaki handling direction and script.
What's It About?
The series mixes familiar fairy tale settings with mystery storytelling. It follows the traveling Little Red Riding Hood as she encounters crimes and mysteries throughout the fairy tale world and attempts to uncover the truth behind them — the teaser trailer even shows her calling out a culprit's poor criminal plan.
Existing Adaptations
The franchise already has a manga adaptation by Noka Tanaka, and was previously adapted into a live-action Netflix film titled Once Upon a Crime — so anime fans who enjoyed that take have a new, more faithful version to look forward to.
